Delivering Results for Bradford West Gwillimbury

During my time on Council, we didn't just talk about progress, we built it. Together, we have driven major infrastructure upgrades, expanded community services,  and made key investments to improve your daily commute, community safety, and quality of life.

Here is a look at what we have accomplished together

Roads, Pedestrian Safety & Public Transit

  • We  completed major street infrastructure improvements, with aging watermains replaced and roads, curbs, and sidewalks upgraded to improve public safety and long-term reliability. Notable projects included Centre Street, Anne Street, Back Street, Bingham Street, Edward Street, and William Street.

  • Continued to invest in maintaining our roads through resurfacing, repairs, and ongoing rehabilitation projects. In 2025, work included Line 5, Line 7, Line 9, and Bridge Street. In 2026, improvements continued on Golfview Boulevard, Roughley Street, Prince Drive, and Simcoe Road (Walker Ave. to Line 6) with lots more to come.

  • To improve neighborhood safety, council’s recent budgets have integrated automated tools like the launch of a Red Light Camera (RLC) program and targeted intersection safety improvements in rural areas.

  • Launched and expanded BWG Transit, improving connections to schools, shopping, and the GO Station through enhanced service hours, weekend routes, and on-demand transit options.

  • Continued enhancements to sidewalks and the expansion of the town’s multi-use trail network have made Bradford much more walkable and bike-friendly. 

Traffic Relief & Major Infrastructure

  • The Bradford Bypass (Highway 425): Council has aggressively championed this provincial project for years. With major construction now underway, the bypass is set to significantly alleviate gridlock on local streets like Holland Street
  • County Road 4 (Yonge Street) Widening: In collaboration with Simcoe County, the critical widening of County Road 4 to four lanes (with added multi-use paths and intersection upgrades) has seen massive progress, with Phase 1 wrapping up in mid-2026.
  • South West Arterial Road (SWAR): To divert heavy commercial traffic away from downtown, council successfully pushed through the construction and integration of the SWAR. Work included new paving, construction of the Line 6/Sideroad 10 roundabout, and improved road connections to support traffic flow and future growth.

Housing & Social Support

  • In an active partnership with the County of Simcoe, the Town donated the land at 151 Simcoe Road to build a landmark 50-unit,   mixed-use affordable housing building.
  • Opened in late 2024, the development provides much-needed barrier-free and universal housing for local families and seniors. It also features a ground-floor social services community hub.

Premier Community Hubs & Recreation

  • Opened the BWG Public Square, creating a vibrant gathering place in the heart of downtown that hosts community events, celebrations, and public activities year-round.
  • Continued investing in community spaces through plans to redevelop the Bradford Community Centre site into a renewed public amenity that meets the needs of a growing population.
  • Expanded the Town’s network of parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and multi-use trails, providing more opportunities for recreation, active living, and community connection.
  • Established the BWG Leisure Centre & Library Campus
