For the past 16 years, I have had the honour and privilege to represent the residents of Bradford West Gwillimbury as a three-term Ward 1 Councillor and, since 2022, as your Deputy Mayor.

Since 1989, my family and I have proudly called BWG home. I’ve had the privilege of watching our town grow from a small close-knit community into the vibrant and diverse place it is today. As we continue to grow, it’s important that we do so responsibly, protecting the small-town character we value while investing in the services, infrastructure, and opportunities residents need.

Looking ahead, I believe the best is yet to come for Bradford West Gwillimbury. With experienced, respectful leadership and a strong voice for our community, we can build on our progress, preserve what makes BWG special, and deliver results that make life better for residents today and for generations to come.

A Practical Plan for Bradford West Gwillimbury

Bradford West Gwillimbury is growing. With this growth comes opportunity as well as pressure on our roads, housing, services, infrastructure and taxpayers.

My approach is simple: grow responsibly, plan ahead, spend carefully, protect taxpayers and focus municipal government on delivering results residents can see.

I will not make promises simply because they sound good during an election. I also won’t pretend the Mayor or Town Council can solve every issue alone. When action is needed from the Province, County or another agency, I’ll be clear about who is responsible and work with them to get results.

Every initiative in my plan will answer three simple questions:

Is it within our authority?

How will we pay for it?

How does this benefit residents?

Experience That Matters

I’ve spent more than 35 years living, working, raising my family and serving the community right here in BWG. That experience has shaped how I lead and what I believe our Town needs from its next Mayor.

Deep roots in BWG. Proud to call this community home since 1989.
30+ years of leadership experience. Led people, solved challenges and delivered results with Magna, one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers.
Strong roots in agriculture. I come from a farming family and worked on a farm in the Holland Marsh — still one of my favourite jobs.
Local business experience. I’ve been a business owner, and my family owned and operated a gas station here in town.

16 years of municipal experience. Three terms as Ward 1 Councillor and currently serving as Deputy Mayor.
A long record of community involvement. Served on numerous Town, County and community boards and committees.
A family committed to public service. My son and two brothers serve in policing.

Experience matters when decisions get difficult. I’m ready to put mine to work providing the steady, respectful and effective leadership BWG deserves from its next Mayor.

Served in the capacity of Director and Vice President to promote South Simcoe as a place to do business, assist existing and new businesses, and economic development initiatives in the area.

Bradford Lions Club

As an active member, Raj dedicates his time and energy to the Lions’ various initiatives, including fundraising and community events, to meet the needs of Bradford West Gwillimbury. No longer member of the Lions Club but support them in principal.

Diversity Action Group (DAG)

Raj is a founding member of DAG, a volunteer group that celebrates cultural events and works to create an inclusive & welcoming community. In 2018, DAG won the Bradford West Gwillimbury’s civic award for Organization of the Year
